SLY M is a new band in the Dutch jazz scene. This group consists of musicians who can go in any musical direction, but swinging hard is the main focus. Neo-bop, free, Latin, and everything else that comes along in modern jazz is thrown into the blender.
SLY M is made up of three young talents and one veteran. The musical character of the band is simply the result of the greatest common denominator of the musical personalities playing in it. The music is organic and comes more from the hips than from the head.
SLY M calls it street-improvised music. The music is sensational, breathtaking, moving, and exhilarating at the same time. Influences from “The Old Days” and modern jazz blend seamlessly.
