Biography
Ben van den Dungen has been active in the music scene for over 40 years. He graduated with honors from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 1988. His passion for jazz led him to international destinations, including New York, Cuba, Colombia, and India, to further broaden his musical horizons after his studies in The Hague. He has performed in over 6000 concerts across 75 countries and has been part of influential groups such as the Ben van den Dungen / Jarmo Hoogendijk 5tet, Nueva Manteca, and Tango Extremo.
In addition to his performing career, he has been a dedicated music teacher and composer for 33 years, with over 80 compositions to his name. In recent years, Ben has been actively involved in advocating for the interests of musicians in the cultural sector through his work with organizations such as the Kunstenbond/NTB, BIMPRO, BumaCultuur, and the National Podium Plan.
